We are pleased to announce the upcoming 40th Anniversary of the Diocese of San Jose, founded on March 18, 1981, the eve of the Solemnity of Saint Joseph. The year long Jubilee celebration will begin on November 28, 2020, and close on November 21, 2021.

The Jubilee celebrates our history and summons us all to carry out the church mission with renewed faith, hope, and charity. Still the youngest diocese in California, our local Church is called to continue “Journeying Together in Hope” in the midst of uncertainties, “for in hope we were saved” and “hope that sees for itself is not hope” (Romans 8:24).

o Jubilee theme: Journeying Together in Hope

o Jubilee song: Sumus Ecclesia by Gregory Dale Schultz

o Jubilee prayer: (In progress)

o Jubilee logo: The road flowing out from the number 40 symbolizes how the past 40 years are just the beginning of our journey.

Santa Clara County Influenza (Flu) Vaccine: Every person aged 6 months and older needs the flu vaccine, every year. This is especially true this year, with COVID-19 also circulating widely in Santa Clara County. For more info click here

  • Getting vaccinated for the flu will be even more important this year because the symptoms of the flu and the coronavirus are very similar and the two illnesses could be mistaken for each other if someone has not been vaccinated or tested for the virus.
  • If you have health insurance, you can visit your regular doctor.
  • You can input your zip code into HealthMap Vaccine Finder to find all flu shot locations near you.
  • The county will offer flu vaccinations for free, regardless of insurance or immigration status, at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through mid-December and at all Santa Clara Valley Medical Center clinics and pharmacies.
